Hinamatsuri

Happy Girl's Day!  It is a special day for us girls and I remember feeling and being treated so special every March 3rd. No, I am not Japanese and don't put up any dolls during this time, but growing up in Hawaii made for celebrating all things Japanese and so it feels a little like a second culture for me. I didn't make any mochi today but I did have little mochi balls on my frozen yogurt in honor of the day! Revisiting this set of pictures to celebrate because I think they remind of the fun it is being a girl! Pink bathing suit, long curly hair, yellow fringe skirt and a pretty pincushion flower....oh yes.....all while laughing in the sun during some beach time!
